Due to the world’s current state, frontline health workers have been putting in major overtime to keep populations safe. It’s heartwarming to see organizations react so positively, giving their support whenever they can. To honour those working on the frontline, a number of companies are lighting-up hearts on the sides of their buildings and skyscrapers. This signal of love gives fellow Torontonians a sense of hope and the ultimate feeling of “togetherness.”

Amongst the city’s lit-up buildings is the Fairmont Royal York - who has been a part of Toronto since 1929. During this time, the Royal York is also offering their “Rest Safe” program. Through this program, they are opening their doors to frontline hospital workers, allowing them to stay as valued Fairmont guests.

On a recent Facebook post, the InterContinental Toronto Centre encouraged their community to light-up their windows to send a message of love and hope. During CN Tower’s nightly light shows, you can spot hearts along the beloved tower. You can take a look at the lighting schedule here, where you can learn each show’s representation. For instance, the light show scheduled for April 19 will be a tribute to National Volunteers Week.

A huge thank you goes out to those working the frontlines of essential services. We wouldn’t be able to do any of this without you. Have you spotted any hearts on your favourite Toronto building?
