Fellow Torontonians: we’re fast approaching the winter season, so the chill factor is definitely coming through. With temperatures dropping, we usually have to forgo our favourite outdoor activities - and yes, this usually includes wining and dining on the city’s best terraces.
Well, before you start thinking of at-home activities, we have some great news! Toronto’s newest dining patio opened this weekend - and it’s heated and covered.
Yes, heated AND covered. Plus, it’s huge: it’s well over 5000 square feet! The patio is called “The Marquee,” and it’s been built right at Cabana’s waterfront patio. Along with its grand opening is a new food menu by the renowned Oliver & Bonacini company. Plus, there’s an interactive art installation by Bruno Billio. How exciting, right?!
At the beginning of the summer, Cabana’s pool bar actually transformed to a waterfront patio to accommodate social distancing rules. This meant that instead of dance and lounge spaces, it became a reserved-seating dining area only.
The new menu is absolutely mouthwatering. Its starters include French onion soup and Piri Piri Shrimp Empanadas. For mains, you can enjoy Buttermilk Half Fried Chicken, Barbacoa Cauliflower and Icelandic Sole Fish & Chips. Do we have you drooling? You can take a look at their full menu here.
On the official website, they covered a full FAQ on how they’re staying safe for their customers/visitors and staff. Their cleaning and sanitizing list includes: clean menu provided to every guest, only sealed/wrapped utensils used, and sanitizer/wipes provided for every customer. Moreover, to respect social distancing rules, there are only a limited number of seated diners allowed on the premise, extra space between tables, and the staff’s temperatures are checked at the beginning of every shift.
Be sure to reserve a table here. This new experience is an exciting one for Torontonians - definitely worth the visit!
