I’m sure someone’s asked you before, “We’re thinking of visiting Canada - what are some things you suggest we do?” Many recommendations we give are quite similar - you know, all the classically Canadian things like feasting at a cabane à sucre, visiting the top of the CN Tower, taking a stroll through Old Montreal, and eating lobster at PEI.

While those things are extra charming (simply because Canada is an amazing place, eh?), there’s something else you can add on to the list. And it has to do with belugas. Yes, belugas.
Every summer in Manitoba, you can go paddle boarding to meet beluga whales, and it’s totally magical! Sea North Tours and SUP North work together to bring this incredible experience to those looking for the ultimate paddle board adventure. The tour (which is lead by a professional) allows paddle boarders to interact and meet beluga whales in their natural habitat.

Beluga whales are known to be extremely social creatures, regularly swimming in small pods with an average of 10 members. Their personalities are as large as… well, their bodies! Male beluga whales are known to weigh more than 3500 pounds while females, up to 2650 pounds! They’re very curious towards humans in the wild and are known for swimming alongside ships and boats. How cute!
Quick! Paddle boarding with belugas only happens two months in the year, every July and August. Price per person is $170 plus tax and you can get all detailed information here.
