Did you enjoy the warm weather over the last weekend? We hope you did, as that is going to change this week. Weather forecasts predict snow and temperatures falling down around the freeze mark as the Arctic air moves towards the Grand Lakes region.
We can expect the temperature to drop from Tuesday evening and stay 10 degrees below the seasonal temperature (14.4) throughout the whole week. We can see the light sunshine popping out throughout the weekend though, reminding us that spring is on the way. Don’t be too eager to put away your winter coat yet, as the weather forecasters warn about a cold breeze in the first half of May.

The low temperature is not what we need to look out for though. Environment Canada sent out a weather alert that the drop in temperature may result in patchy frost.
What that means for us is that we have to be prepared. If you have already started to work in your garden- cover sensitive plants and trees. You might also want to secure frost-prone areas like doorsteps, garage ways and put on those winter boots with grip one more time this year.
Fingers crossed- the next time you will read about the spring flowers blooming around the town and searching which parks are worth visiting this season. Let’s take that one more shot of ice before we head into the warmer time of the year.
