Vancouver is known for its expensive housing, but this one is the best one yet. RE/MAX just put up a house for sale at the modest price of $1 Million dollars which seems rather cheap for Vancity… but here’s the catch. The house was almost completely burned down after an arson fire back in 2017.

The previous owners left the house, located 509 Forest Park Way, Porte Moody, and RE/MAX Realty put it up for sale. Claiming it’s “the perfect chance to build a new home in an established neighbourhood”, the house covers 2,963-sq-ft and is located in a perfect and quiet neighborhood in Vancouver’s suburban area.
So bottom line, you are not paying for the house itself but more for the land…To reflect the extremely high prices of housing in the Vancouver area, BC Assessment claims the value of the property has risen by 5% dispite being a house destroyed by flames. Sounds crazy? That’s because it is.
