Okay, who agrees? The best kind of pies are pizza pies. Right?! Okay, well let's not pick favorites. There are plenty of pies out there who deserve the limelight, but pizza is a crowd favorite for a reason. If one day you find yourself in Ottawa, check out these impressive pizzerias:

1. Anthony’s - (1218 Wellington St)

If it’s pizza Napoletana you seek, then you have to stop by Anthony’s. It boasts thin-crust pizza that's wood-fired to perfection - are you drooling yet?

2. The Grand Pizzeria & Bar - (74 George St)

There you will find world recipes brought to life. Perfected by their Pizzaoli on their specially built wood-burning oven, your pizza will be just as it was intended—full of rich flavor and perfect for time out with friends.

3. Georgie’s Pizza - (1661 Carling Ave)

Ottowans swear by Georgie’s. You’d never know from the hole-in-the-wall exterior that this place serves some of the cheesiest, thick-crust pizza in the city.

4. Fiazza Fresh Fired - (86 Murray St)

Build your own pizza or order one of their signature pies. With a selection of craft beer and Niagara wine on their drink menu, this is an ideal dinner for a pizza-lovers date!

5. Pavarrazzi’s Gourmet Pizza - (491 Somerset St)

Serving pizza from four to twenty-four slices in size, these thin crust pies are a great option if you’re throwing a party and don’t want to succumb to ordering from some heartless pizza conglomerate.

6. Bread & Sons Bakery (195 Bank St)

It’s a little surprising to think that a bakery could serve such a formidable pizza. This place is a great option for lunch or a single slice on the go.

7. Tennessy Willems - (1082 Wellington St W)

The menu here is more than your average pepperoni or cheese situation. Think: wild boar, duck confit, and pulled pork. Come here to enjoy pizza outside the box (pun intended)!

8. Louis Pizza (181 MacArthur Ave)

After 35 years, this family restaurant is still serving some of the best pizza in the greater Ottawa region. This cozy diner makes you feel right at home and another added bonus is the option to make your pie with gluten-free dough.

9. Cumberland Pizza (152 Nelson St)

This family-run restaurant is your no-frills answer to tasty pizza comfort in Lower Town. Pick up, dine in, or have it delivered to your door, you know just what to expect: unpretentious pizza served with a smile.

10. Colonnade Pizza (multiple locations)

If you’re under a pizza spell (ie.: craving a thick crust, decked out, unabashed pizza), then Colonnade Pizza is a must-visit. This local favourite is the top contender for best Italian comfort food.
